Language Development of Young Children Is Not Linked to Phthalate Exposure
To the Editor Bornehag et al suggest an association of first-trimester phthalate exposure of mothers measured by first morning void urine metabolites (Swedish Environmental Longitudinal Mother and Child, Asthma and Allergy [SELMA] study) or urine spot samples (The Infant Development and the Environment Study [TIDES]) with poorer language development of children. We are not convinced that this conclusion can be drawn.
