This bill has been presented to the Senate (the upper house) for debate, which is likely to take place in the next couple of months.

As a result, all regulations regarding the use of phthalates, parabens and alkylphenols remain unchanged.

Following the surprising result of the vote, the bill has been forwarded to the Senate where it may be debated and then, depending on the outcome of this debate, sent back for a second reading in the National Assembly.
